My philosophy...

I believe that every person encounters at least one situation in their life where they feel uncertain, confused and lost. By asking a variety of non-judgemental questions and then processing the answers, my goal is to assist clients in clearing away the uncertainty and discovering the best possible way to deal with this difficult situation. As a therapist, I do not give advice or tell people what is right. I will offer my observations, provide unconditional support and assist clients in obtaining all the necessary information to make the best choices for their life.

Happy Family

A research study cited by the AAMFT (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy) shared the following statistics regarding clients who recently received treatment from a Marriage and Family Therapist:

  • Almost 90% of clients reported an improvement in their emotional health
  • Close to 66% of clients reported an enhancement in their overall physical health
  • Over three-fourths of those receiving couples or family therapy recognize a positive progression in the couple relationship
  • Parents stated that their child's behavior improved in 73.7% of the cases. Their child’s ability to get along with other children significantly improved and there was enhanced performance at school.

Motivating reasons to seek counselling for your child or adolescent:

  • Approximately 5% of male youth and 12% of female youth, age 12 to 19, have experienced a major depressive episode.
  • The total number of 12-19 year olds in Canada at risk for developing depression is a staggering 3.2 million.
  • Once depression is recognized, help can make a difference for 80% of people who are affected, allowing them to get back to their regular activities.
  • In Canada, only 1 out of 5 children who need mental health services receives them.
